CO2 Alarm Triggered After Using Hot Water Heater on Tuscany 36 MQ XTE

The CO2 alarm was triggered after using the gas side of the hot water heater in a Tuscany 36 MQ XTE. The propane switch was turned on for the first time. Is the switch necessary for the hot water tank?

Determine if the alarm is a CO or LPG alarm. If it is emitting an alarm, check for a faulty alarm or potential gas leak.

LP alarms are typically mounted at floor level, while CO alarms are mounted toward the ceiling. A gas leak can be deadly and should be identified.

RV's have a CO (Carbon Monoxide) detector, not a CO2 detector. The propane switch is only for the water heater, not for the stove, and should be turned on shortly before use. If the alarm has gone off, check the unit's lifespan; replace if older than 5 years.
