Troubleshooting Flat Tow Lighting Issues on GMC 2500 Denali
Michelle Richardson2 months ago46 views
Having trouble getting the lights to work with the plug-in cord for a 26 GMC 2500 Denali set up for flat towing. A company installed Blue Ox baseplates and an Air Force One braking system, but the wiring is not functioning correctly. They tried a Curt plug-and-play kit and a Blue Ox diode kit, but the lights still do not work. Seeking advice on resolving this issue.

A remote light bar with a magnetic mount and rechargeable battery can be used for toad lights. Modification of the hitch to add a shelf for the light bar is recommended.

Separate lighting is recommended for this truck while flat towing, as it needs to be completely dead. The truck is difficult to flat tow due to suspension issues.

Lights do not work when battery disconnects are activated. There is a possibility of needing a hot wire connected with the other wires.

GM recommends the positive battery cable to be disconnected. Lights must be powered from the motorhome. Double pole switches or relays could be used as the diode kits often do not function well.
